Sedalia School District 200 announced on their Facebook page Wednesday that they are aware of a social media threat.

The threat has been made against Smith-Cotton High School on social media site Sarahah, a free social media app that lets the user receive comments from friends and strangers anonymously. The person who posted the message said he or she would shoot up the high school with pistols, warning students “better not be at school tomorrow."

The district announced that law enforcement are prepared to support their schools Thursday morning and encourages families to follow their usual routines.
