Slovakia's harmonized consumer price inflation accelerated further in August, though marginally, data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Monday.
The harmonized index of consumer prices climbed 1.6 percent year-on-year in August, just above the 1.5 percent increase in July. The measure has been rising since December last year.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages grew 4.4 percent annually in August and transport costs rose by 3.4 percent. At the same time, utility costs dropped 2.0 percent.
On a monthly basis, the HICP remained flat for the second straight month in August.
