Malta's inflation figure meant to facilitate EU comparison accelerated for a fifth consecutive month in August, preliminary data from the statistical office showed Friday.
The harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, rose 2.4 percent year-on-year following 2.1 percent increase in July.
The largest upward impact on annual inflation was measured in the Restaurants and Hotels Index, while the largest downward impact was recorded in the Recreation and Culture Index, the agency said.
Compared to the previous month, the HICP rose 0.7 percent in August.
