In a bid to raise funds and awareness, Animals Fiji continue to bring the community together.

This is after Animals Fiji, a local charity that offers the only veterinary welfare services in the Northern and Western divisions, hosted an exciting Neverland – a Peter Pan themed fundraiser at the Malawai Plantation in Nadi last Saturday night.

Co-Founder and Managing Trustee Casey Quimby said, “Events such as Neverland are a fantastic way to bring the community together for a great time and to support a much-needed cause.

“We raised $47,000 on the night, which will go towards operating cost: continue to hire veterinarians. We have just hired our first Fijian vet (Dr Ashnita Prasad), who graduated from Malaysia this year.

“We continue to ensure all our services, especially desexing, are subsidised and able to be on offer at our five clinics as well as our outreach to village and settlement clinics each year.”

Ms Quimby thanked the various sponsors who came on board to boost the event once again.

“Our hope is that events such as this will not only raise awareness, but also raise funds needed to continue our important work and sustain subsidised services for the Fijian community,” she said.

The event was dubbed as the party of the year and it was on all you can eat and drink extravaganza featuring a magical dance floor and DJ as well as auctions, raffles and fancy-dress prizes.

Animals Fiji is a charity (Fiji charity registration #889) operating the only veterinary welfare services in the Northern and Western divisions.
