Uzbekistan to host Cultural Heritage Week

Tashkent, Aug.22, 2019. /Kabar/. “Uzbekistan-crossroads of great roads: empires, religions, cultures” cultural heritage week will be held in Uzbekistan on Aug. 22-28, Firdaws Abdukhalikov, the World Society for Study, Preservation, and Promotion of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Board Chairman said.

He said the program of the Week will include more than 15 events to be held in four cities of the republic - Tashkent, Termez, Bukhara and Samarkand.

The Third International Congress of the World Society for Study, Preservation, and Promotion of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan and the Kushan Treasures exhibition (Dalverzin Gold) and Masterpieces of Uzbekistan’s Manuscripts will be held in Tashkent within the framework of the Week.

International conferences will be held under the auspices of UNESCO “Preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage: topical problems and strategies for their solution" in Samarkand, "Uzbekistan - crossroads of civilizations" in Termez.

More than 300 scientists of oriental studies, UNESCO experts, representatives of international mass media from 40 countries of the world, including Kyrgyzstan, will take part in the events of the Week.
