VMUG Announces 2017 Service Awards Winners
The VMware User Group (VMUG) is excited to announce the slate of 2017 Service Award Winners.
NASHVILLE, TN, USA, September 26, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The VMware User Group (VMUG) is excited to announce the slate of 2017 Service Award Winners. VMUG Service Awards are presented annually to volunteers who have been long-term local VMUG leaders and who continue to support their local VMUG communities in a meaningful way. This year, the US winners received their awards at a Leader Luncheon, hosted by VMUG at VMworld in Las Vegas. International winners received their awards at a Leader Luncheon hosted by VMUG at VMworld in Barcelona. Pat Gelsinger, the CEO of VMware, was present at both events.The President’s Award is awarded to an individual who not only serves and supports their local VMUG community, but also supports the larger mission of the global VMUG organization, providing constructive feedback and helping to connect his/her local group with the global community. This year’s recipients were Brandon Seymour (Rochester, Syracuse, Capital District) and Javier Larea (Galicia, Spain).
The Extra Mile Award goes to a local group that consistently goes above and beyond in service of their local VMUG community including: selecting unique meeting locations, utilizing all available means of communication, holding more than four meeting per year, developing strong meeting agendas, and bringing in new and appealing speakers. This year’s recipients were the New York City (Gregory Laub, Jorvin Martinez, Michael Martino, Nicholas Scuola) group and the Italy (Antonio Amoroso, Massimiliano Moschini, Francesco Bonetti, Pietro Piutti, Andrea Mauro, Danilo Chiavari, Giuseppe Guglielmetti, Lino Telera) group.
The Service Award goes to a volunteer who has been a long-term local VMUG leader and continues to support his/her local VMUG in a meaningful way. This year’s recipients were Dan Maxfield (South Dakota) and Maciej Lelusz (Poland).
The VMUG Partnership Award is presented to someone outside of the leader community (such as a partner, a VMware employee, or a general community member) who consistently supports the VMUG organization. This year’s recipients were Chris McCain of VMware and Rebecca Fitzhugh of Rubrik.
Finally, the Outstanding VMware Support award goes to a member of the VMUG community who goes above and beyond when it comes to both technical and organizational support. This year’s recipients were Phil Balfanz (Minneapolis / North Central Wisconsin) and Robert Jensen (Denmark).
