Alabama Trucking & Logistics Executive is Honored for Dedication to the Industry

Greg Brown wins Alabama Trucking Award

I can honestly think of no one more deserving than Greg of this honor
— ATA President and CEO, Frank Filgo
MCKINNEY, TX, UNITED STATES, May 25, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Greg Brown, CEO at BR Williams Trucking, Inc., was recently honored by the Alabama Trucking Association (ATA) with its H. Chester Webb Award for Distinguished Service.

The award was presented to Mr. Brown at the ATA’s 80th Annual Convention and Meeting held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in April. Established in 1958, it honors state trucking professionals for outstanding service and leadership to their community and the industry.

BR Williams has supported and worked alongside the ATA for more than 50 years, during which three executives from the company served as ATA Chairman. Brown, the most recent Chairman, has served honorably for over a decade.

“[Brown] is the perfect ATA member,” said ATA President and CEO, Frank Filgo. “He consistently gives of himself and his resources for the betterment of our organization. I can honestly think of no one more deserving than Greg of this honor… This Association is forever grateful for his service and sacrifice for the advancement and improvement of Alabama’s vast trucking industry.”

Since joining the ATA in 2010, Brown has also represented ATA as its State Vice President to the American Trucking Associations in Washington D.C., where he was nationally awarded the Rocque Dameo Award in 2016 for his longtime leadership and service to the industry and organization.

A testament to his longtime leadership and dedicated service is his 35+ year tenure with BR Williams. Hired in 1983 as the CFO/Controller he quickly moved through the organization until being named Chairman/CEO, a position that he has held for over 17 years.

In that time, BR Williams has transformed from an over-the-road trucking company to a full-service warehousing, freight, supply chain management, and logistics (3PL) service provider.

Today, BR Williams has 6 locations across the Southeast, nearly 800 tractors and trailers, and services the 48 contiguous states and Canada (all with a 98% overall inventory accuracy).
