The Moodie Davitt e-Zine: Hennessy stands alone and flies high in Hong Kong

INTERNATIONAL. Welcome to The Moodie Davitt e-Zine – Travel Retail’s Lookbook. In this issue, we explore how Cognac brand Hennessy is raising its travel retail game to a new level.

The LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned brand recently opened its first airport flagship store at Hong Kong International.

“It means that Hennessy as a brand has created enough of an image, and enough of a desire for it, that it can stand alone,” Hennessy Chairman and CEO Bernard Peillon told The Moodie Davitt Report at the grand opening. The platform is now there for further innovation and growth.

Elsewhere in this issue, we bring you memorable moments from the travel retail industry’s biggest event – the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference held last week in Cannes, France. From a bustling exhibition hall and the lively discussions of the conference and workshops, to a diverse social programme and a plethora of exciting launches, there is much to look back on.

In The Foodie Report, we examine how Lagardère Travel Retail has continued to grow its airport F&B operations. In a major statement, the company signed an exclusive global travel channel franchise agreement with New York gourmet food & beverage brand Dean & DeLuca earlier this month.

Megan Van Someren, founder of global food consultancy Canteen, assesses how travel F&B companies are responding to new foodie trends. And the spotlight is on fast-growing German group casualfood as we interview Managing Partner Stefan Weber.
