BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor, former Cocoa Tigers Football and Florida Gators player, sat down with Space Coast Daily’s Juan Rodriguez to discuss his journey to the NFL, and offer his advice to young, aspiring athletes in Brevard County. 

Taylor grew up and played high school football for John Wilkinson’s Cocoa Tigers. A 6-foot-5-inch, 328-pound offensive tackle, he was a standout and immediately captured the attention of major Division I football programs across the nation.

Taylor ended up staying close to home and attended the University of Florida until he decided to forego his senior year and enter the 2019 NFL Draft and was selected 35th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After signing a $7.8 million contract with the Jags, the 22-year-old played all 1,091 offensive snaps during his rookie season.

For his outstanding play during the 2019 National Football League season, Taylor was selected to the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team.
