US President Donald Trump cops wrath of Twitter after Thighland gaffe at Whirlpool factory

Donald Trump has fallen victim to his questionable pronunciation yet again.

The US President was giving a speech at a Whirlpool factory in Clyde, Ohio, discussing washing machine manufacturing, when he stumbled over the pronunciation of Thailand.

“Once more, your foreign competitors moved their factories to prevent a level playing field and to avoid liability,” he said.

“Shifting production to Thighland and to Vietnam... Thailand and Vietnam, two places that, I like their leaders very much.”

As you can expect, internet users did their best on the unfortunate misstep and #thighland was trending around the world within hours.

Cue inappropriate place names, including Indo-knee-sia, Hondur-ass, Ass-ganistan and Knee-pal.

And there was no shortage of brilliant memes, with Twitter users flexing their Photoshop muscles at the expense of the president.
