Sarr on the Liverpool shortlist

Watford forward Ismaila Sarr is a possible transfer target for Liverpool this summer after the Hornets relegation from the Premier League.

As the Echo have reported, the Reds summer transfer plans are now starting to firmly take shape with the Senegalese forward one of a number of potential options for the club.

Sarr is well-known to Reds fans following his starring performance in Watford’s 3-0 win over Liverpool back in February, when he netted twice.

The 22-year-old could fit Liverpool’s profile of signing young and exciting attacking talent who could be available for below their true market value.

21 years since revolutionary summer

It’s been 21 years since Gerard Houllier transformed Liverpool’s squad by bringing in seven new arrivals in one transfer window.

As recalled by the Echo , a total of seven first-team players joined Anfield in summer 1999 while 10 players went the other way.

Central defenders Stephane Henchoz and Sami Hyypia arrived from Blackburn and Willem II respectively, while Dietmar Hamann joined from Newcastle.

Goalkeeper Sander Westerveld and striker Eric Meijer were two lesser-known arrivals, while Vladimir Smicer joined from Lens and Titi Camara arrived from Marseille.

Three of those players in particular made their mark at the club by helping the Reds lift the Champions League in 2005.

New Reds shirt set for massive sales

Liverpool have received a “high demand” for their new Nike 2020/21 home kit with record sales expected.

LA Lakers star LeBron James was pictured on social media streams sporting the new Reds shirt, building up an increased level of interest.

The club's official retail Twitter account wrote on Friday, as cited by the Echo : "We have received a high demand for our 20/21 Home Kit range since we launched on 1st August.

"Due to a shorter pre-order window than in previous years and our distribution team working in a COVID-secure environment, this year we were unable to guarantee delivery on the day the kit launched.

"At the time of purchase we anticipated orders would be shipped from 5th August but due to demand, some orders may now experience a slight delay.

"Products marked w/c 24th August at the time of ordering are still on track for that date.

"Whilst still working under COVID-19 restrictions, our distribution team is working hard to ship all orders to you as quickly as possible.

"We're really grateful for your support and patience during this time."
