Karoline Leavitt had some unsavory words for journalists, despite having to work with them every day.
The White House press secretary – who is the youngest in history – was a guest on the Ruthless podcast to talk about her first few months working in the White House. She’s spent a lot of time in the press briefing room, commenting about issues from tariffs on Canadian goods to Elon Musk’s role in Donald Trump’s administration.
She’s received backlash from journalists, as the Trump administration announced it will decide which reporters are able to cover the White House, as opposed to the White House Correspondents’ Association.
Leavitt and the hosts joked about how she and White House communications director Steven Cheung respond to emails she receives from journalists, calling it her “favorite thing.”
“They email: ‘Karoline, ethical experts, yes… We write back which experts? And then they send the names, and we Google them, and they're like Democrat donors funded by George Soros.
“So you're like, we copy and paste their Wikipedia like ‘these experts, a--hole?’ This is not a real story. These are not real stories.”
She called the use of terms like “experts” and “advocates” the “tell of any liberal reporter.”

Her disdain for reporters isn’t surprising, as she has gotten into arguments with journalists in the past. Leavitt called out a reporter for “making a face” during an awkward press conference Tuesday.
"To the woman in the purple cause I saw you were making a face at my previous answer," Leavitt said, to which the bemused reporter responded, "Oh did I?"
Her answer was to a question about why pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses, which seek to end the war in Gaza, a shared goal with the administration, is “not acknowledged or highlighted.”
Leavitt responded saying that the flyers were Hamas propaganda, claiming that the flyers were distributed and “promoted violence.”
