Kendra Wilkinson‘s divorce from Hank Baskett was finalized six years ago, but the former Girls Next Door star still has some serious thoughts about her ex-husband. Her heartbreaking revelation came on the March 20 episode of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ podcast, I Do, Part 2.
The 39-year-old real estate agent left her Playboy Mansion days far behind her, but her marriage to Baskett still seems fresh in her heart. She described their former union as “the happiest days of my entire life” when they were a family unit raising their two kids, son Hank, 15, and daughter, Alijah, 10.

“And so, when those days came to an end, I crumbled so hard, and it almost killed me,” she shared. “It almost killed me. I left the Playboy Mansion at age 23, got pregnant, got married at the age of 23, then started my life as a wife and a mother, and it was the golden years of my life.” Wilkinson described the retired NFL player as “the perfect man, the man of my dreams.”
Even though they divorced in 2019 after almost 10 years of marriage, the TV personality looks back fondly at the memories she shares with Baskett. “He’s the father of my kids, and he’s the most amazing father to my kids, and I know I chose right with him,” she added. Holmes was curious as to why Wilkinson and Baskett aren’t together since there appears to be so much love between them.
“I will always be in love with Hank,” she admitted while noting that her ex made “too many” mistakes in their marriage.
What happened to Kendra and Hank’s marriage?
In 2014, the tabloids somehow caught wind of Baskett’s affair while Wilkinson was eight months pregnant with their daughter. His entanglement stayed in the headlines for weeks which added a tremendous amount of stress to Wilkinson who was about to give birth.
“I messed up,” he told People in 2015. “I put myself in a bad situation. And everything through me brought pain upon this family.” The story he explained to his then-wife and the public didn’t really make any sense, but it was clear that a transgression in their marriage had occurred.
The couple attempted to heal their wounds with another reality show, WE TV’s Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, but the pain from his infidelity seemed too much to overcome. They split in 2018 and finalized their divorce in 2019.
“Today is the last day of my marriage to this beautiful man,” Wilkison wrote on Instagram in April 2018, per Us Weekly. “I will forever love Hank and be open but for now we have chosen to go our own ways. … U will prob see us together a lot but it’s because there’s no hate. Love wins in this case it just looks a little funny. Thank you Hank for a beautiful 8 years of marriage and 2 beautiful kids. I feel so thankful and blessed.”
