Black Mirror fans have been eagerly anticipating season 7 and now they don't have long to wait as the next instalment lands on Netflix on April 10.

Ahead of the new season, star of the show, Paul Giamatti has reflected on an episode that made him revisit his "uncomfortable" past.

Speaking in the latest issue of Radio Times, the actor revealed he was delighted to return to Britain to film the episode 'Eulogy', despite the unusual demands it placed on him.

He explained: "I don’t often feel that I consciously bring anything of my own life into something, but there were definitely moments of thinking about my own past here. Regrettable relationships, things that were left open-ended in uncomfortable ways..."

The official sypnosis for the episode in question reads: "An isolated man is introduced to a groundbreaking system that allows its users to literally step inside old photographs - stirring powerful emotions in the process."

It's still unclear which character Paul will portray in the hit series but fans will found out soon enough.

Aside from Paul, the anthology series will also feature many other big names this season, including Awkwafina, Issa Rae, Peter Capaldi and Rashida Jones.

The cast further boasts the likes of Siena Kelly, Billy Magnussen, Rosy McEwen, Cristin Milioti, Chris O'Dowd and Paul G Raymond.

They'll be sharing the limelight with Tracee Ellis Ross, Jimmi Simpson and Harriet Walker, although all of the specific roles are yet to be revealed.

When the cast was announced earlier this year, Reddit users weren't so keen on their being so many known faces.

One penned: "Black Mirror was better with non famous actors I can't explain why."

To which another replied: "Because it doesn't need to rely on names to get people to watch. It's all about the story and the setting."

"Interesting how the newer seasons seem to rely a lot on big name actors and actresses in headlines just to hype us up for episodes," observed another cynical Reddit user.

Black Mirror is known for its thought-provoking content, often set in chilling near-future landscapes and typically featuring eyebrow-raising technology.

The Charlie Brooker-created series initially graced our screens on Channel 4 from 2011 to 2014, before making the leap to Netflix in 2016.
