TREATY United ended a four-match winless streak with a precious 3-0 victory over Kerry FC in the SSE Airtricity League First Division at the Markets Field this Friday night.
Goals from David Tarmey, Nikodem Kozlowski and Trpimir Vrljičak proved decisive as the Tommy Barrett’s men returned to winning ways with a timely Munster derby success.
Kerry had already endured a difficult week prior to kick-off as a three-point deduction for alleged player registration issues already saw them bottom of the First Division standings. The decision is subject to appeal, but the Kingdom side are currently propping up the table.
Hosts Treaty United carved the first meaningful opportunity nine minutes in. Nikodem Kozlowski sent Richkov Boevi away down the left, the latter’s teasing cross cannoned off the woodwork causing consternation in the penalty area.
Daniel Okwute was subsequently adjudged to have handled the ball resulting in a penalty. However, Treaty’s scorer-in chief Lee Devitt was denied from 12 yards by a smart save from Kerry netminder Tim-Oliver Hiemer.

The sides cancelled each other out for much of the opening half before Treaty survived a scare three minutes from the break.
Luke Palmer’s effort from inside the box was parried by Treaty goalkeeper Corey Chambers before Boevi cleared the rebound out of play.
Then in a dramatic conclusion to the opening 45 minutes, David Tarmey gave Treaty the lead on the stroke of half-time with his second goal of the season. In doing so he ended Treaty's scoring drought which lasted 343 minutes.
Referee Declan Toland awarded a penalty after Sean O’Connell brought down Nikodem Kozlowski inside the box. This time, Tarmey duly converted the spot kick as Treaty led 1-0 at the break.
Tommy Barrett's Treaty side doubled their advantage 12 minutes into the second half. Karl O’Sullivan slipped Kozlowski inside the box and the latter calmly fired low to the bottom corner of the net.
The visitors were finding Treaty hard to break down, but were awarded a free-kick on 64 minutes. However, Cian Brosnan missed the target completely from 20 yards out.
At the other end, Trpimir Vrljičak came back to haunt his former club as Treaty led 3-0 on 75 minutes.
Ben Lee collected a quick throw-in from Yoyo Mahdy and teed up the Croatian-born striker who found the net with a first-time effort.
Mahdy almost added a fourth goal 60 seconds from time but his close-range effort came crashing off the woodwork. Nonetheless, Treaty held on for a convincing win.
