Kentuckians whose homes were damaged in the February flooding are getting some help when it comes to housing relief. The National Association of REALTORS allocated an additional $125,000 to support Kentucky households whose homes were damaged or destroyed by recent severe weather.

Ann Elizabeth Delahanty is the president of the Kentucky REALTORS Relief foundation. She said there are many ways people can use the funds they receive.

“It can cover lodging if they've been displaced, rent, it's a thousand dollars per household, so that is what we're able to offer. For the flooding that happened February 14th we were allotted $275,000.”

She said it is easy for people to apply once they get to the website.

“Fill out the information, it's as simple as that. You do need to upload photos, we need to see the damage and what you're asking for. It's really easy it can be done in a few minutes. We have a review panel at our foundation and we will approve the funds or we'll come back and ask for some additional information.”

Delahanty said the money can cover lodging if the recipient has been displaced, rent, or other housing needs. The assistance comes in the form of a thousand dollars or less per household.

So far, 225 families have received housing assistance from the Kentucky REALTORS Relief Foundation. The deadline to apply for the housing assistance is April 30th.

Eligible residents are encouraged to submit their applications at kyrrelief.com.
