Aston Villa loanee Marcus Rashford is reportedly set for showdown talks with Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim if he returns to Old Trafford this summer.
The 27-year-old was dropped by the Portuguese manager shortly after his arrival at Old Trafford last November, with the manager stating that he wasn't performing to the required level.
"I don't think he is improving because of me," said Amorim at the time. "He changed right away since that game against City. The way he understands things and understands that I just want to help him - I just want to win games. He changed in everything - the approach when you talk with him, the way he recovers.
"He understands that sometimes I'm a different coach, that I'm demanding in my way and sometimes it's hard, because I'm a different kind of coach, a different person."
As a result, both parties agreed that a spell away from United was the best option, and Rashford joined Unai Emery's team in February.
As his loan spell at Villa Park is coming to an end, Villa do have the option to make his move permanent for a fee of £40million at the end of the season.
But it remains to be seen whether Villa will take up that offer.
The Daily Star now reports Rashford will hold a meeting with Amorim in aim to clear the air between the two, before their pre-season tour of the United States.
The report adds that United would be willing to sell Rashford, but if no club comes in for him before pre-season, he will be part of their summer tour.
Amorim has so far refused to speak about Rashford when asked about him, insisting he's focussed only on the players he has at his disposal.
The former Sporting Clube de Portugal boss previously stated Rashford could go on to be a top player if he changes his mentality.
"I know Rashford really well, and everybody knows the talent that he has," Amorim said. "He's a top player, if he wants to be. So I’m not surprised. It's a good thing we see our players doing well on loan in a different context."
